LakeOnline.com's new Bid for Position Link Directory lists links categorically in order of highest bid. First you pay $10 to be reviewed and added to our directory. This is to separate the serious businesses from those fly-by-nights whose sites have no long term value. Since LakeOnline.com deals with a large range of websites in a variety of fields, most Web sites submitted to us will potentially be accepted.
However, we do not accept links from pornographic sites, sites that display nudity, use inappropriate language, are offensive to a specific person or community, lack a reasonable amount of content and/or are built purely for advertising purposes without any unique content.
Then, bids/points can be purchased at any time to increase your position in our directory and to attain top and category page positions. Links can be bid for by anyone and all bids are counted toward a link's total bid. The top 10 bidding links are displayed prominently on the home page, and the Link Leader will be displayed on all pages of the Directory with a screenshot of your site in the top right hand corner!
Adding a link is easy. Just click on "Submit Link" at the top of every page and sign up for a review of your site for only $10.
If you added your link you should have been sent directly to the link details page, where you can place a bid to purchase more points. Just click on the Upgrade Listing Arrow icon. The more points you have the more prominent your listing will be. If you do not backup your increased bid with a payment within 48 hours, your bid request will be deleted from our system.
Please note: All Web sites are manually reviewed and verified. This means bids are not activated instantly. Please give us 24 hours (M-F/9-5 CDT) before contacting us about bid-activations (more time may be required on weekends as we are not online as often). After paying via PayPal, you must click the Activate My Bid link on PayPal after payment. If you placed a bid but it was never counted toward your link, please contact us with details of the transaction, including your transaction ID # from PayPal, and the e-mail address that payment was issued from. Your bid will be applied as quickly as possible.
Once listed, your link is displayed indefinitely! However, for quality control purposes we may consider an annual fee structure moving forward. As time passes you can increase your bid to keep your link at the top of the listings.
To separate the wheat from the chaff! To be honest we got tired of the tons of submissions we received on a daily basis that did not meet our Terms of Service. Now any credible site has the opportunity to be listed -- if they want to pay our nominal review fee. And if you know anything about Internet Marketing, ten bucks is cheap!! (We retain the right to increase review fees as our directory grows -- so now is the time to in get our directory during out current low review fee of only $10!)
To open the directory up to the 100s of sites across the globe that desired links also allows Lake County residents to be exposed to sites they may have never knew existed. Getting a link to your site from our established 12 year old site now also allows you to have the option to bid for top rankings too. So you have control to determine how much exposure you would like to have. If you think ten bucks is too much; you need to remind yourself that TNSTAAFL! (There's No Such Thing As A Free Lunch!)
You can use any credit card through PayPal. You DO NOT have to have a PayPal account to send us your payment.
It can take up to several days for screen shots to be "captured" and updated on our site. This is a process of crawlers finding what's new when they come by LakeOnline.com and adding it to their database.
