I am 36 years old and fish everyday when possible and I have a few things to add to your site! First one of the easiest ways to see your rod tip at night is to go to the local Wal-mart and buy a roll of reflective tape and place some on the rod tip. It only costs about $1.25.
Second all or mostly all the baits I see the are being made cost a good bit and make a ton! What I use is a little different costs less and you can make a little or allot. First you need 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of yellow cornmeal mix just enough water to make a ball then flatten it out to about 1 inch thick wrap it in cheese cloth or any thing lying around the house I use a bandana. Place it in boiling water and let cook for 7 minutes remove it from the water place on wax paper and sprinkle with sugar. Then form back into a ball while still hot after that push your thumb into the middle pour 1 table spoon of Anise oil into the ball and mix. Keep in frig.
