Buy the plain white, uncooked/unpeeled frozen whole shrimp (with seafood at Wal-Mart). Sit it out and let it warm in the sun for three hours or so. Re-ze it overnight and do the same the next day. Before re-zing on the second day, sprinkle generously with garlic salt and let it sit in the sun for 30 minutes or so... then ze.
After this the bait is ready to go. Keep the bait on ice, until you are at your favorite fishin' hole and re-ze after each trip. On about the second trip throw in a couple of chicken livers and a little more garlic salt... also add some blood from the liver tub. Seems to work best if you swivel your hook above the sinker (about 6-12"). Don't throw it away... always reze and keep adding more shrimp, blood and garlic salt as needed.
This stuff is potent...hang on to your pole and keep a damp rag handy (for hands). Lemon juice takes the odor off your hands. Good luck!
